A historic Manhattan landmark recently underwent a major renovation, emerging with a bold and modern identity defined by our channel glass. The centerpiece of the renovation is a 380-foot-long illuminated channel glass surface that redefines the building鈥檚 presence, infusing it with a sleek, contemporary aesthetic.

Designed by MdeAS Architects, the backlit prismatic channel glass spans the full length of the fa莽ade above the main entrance, modernizing the building鈥檚 appearance with a continuous surface that eliminates visually disruptive vertical framing.

鈥淭he channel glass had a slightly frosted handmade and crafted aesthetic that looked good during the day and captured the back illumination beautifully at night,鈥 explains Mike Zaborski, Principal at MdeAS Architects. 鈥淲e wanted a soft glow from the bottom and then tapering off towards the top edge.鈥

The renovation is part of a larger effort to revitalize the building, integrating it into Midtown Manhattan鈥檚 ever-evolving architectural landscape. Our channel glass serves as a bridge between tradition and progress within a neighborhood that has seen significant urban development in recent years, with nearby projects such as One Vanderbilt Plaza and the renovation of Grand Central Terminal鈥檚 west entrance. This thoughtful integration into the urban fabric embodies a commitment to architecture that honors the past and embraces the future.

The Prismasolar鈩 channel glass has a chiseled fluted pattern that prismatically bends light through deep V-cut surfaces. In addition to its distinctive appearance, the glass is sustainably produced, with a low carbon footprint and is certified bird friendly. The U profile glass creates walls of light 鈥 with depth and profile unachievable through conventional flat glass, thereby creating virtually seamless glass surfaces that can span hundreds of feet long and span across elevations.

Channel glass podium above the ground floor of the building.

We worked closely with the project team to ensure the smooth integration of the glass and lighting systems. 鈥淭he team at 小红帽直播 was a great resource both on the design and technical side with excellent information on system installation and tolerances, glass options and availability, and integration of lighting elements with necessary supporting members,鈥 says Zaborski. 鈥淭heir development of support systems that were pre-engineered allowed for a streamlined integration into the design process with confirmation of glass and lighting selection through full-size mockups.鈥

The renovation contributes to the modern architectural landscape of Midtown Manhattan. Our channel glass is central to the new fa莽ade, bringing both beauty and elegance while solidifying the building鈥檚 role as a symbol of innovation. The illuminated feature further elevates the structure, creating a striking visual centerpiece that ushers in a new chapter in its legacy.

As building codes nationwide evolve toward stricter energy standards, the importance of one standard is rising above the rest: U-value. This key measure of thermal performance is reshaping the way architects and builders approach fa莽ade systems鈥攁nd our channel glass is setting a new benchmark.

Many of the latest building codes are now demanding glazing systems to achieve U-values as low as U-0.32, including framing. Meeting these benchmarks requires a holistic systems approach鈥攁nd that鈥檚 where we excel. Our channel glass systems can achieve a remarkable center-of-glass U-value of U-0.12, offering architects and builders the ability to provide an ultra-efficient building envelope.

Massachusetts, for example, is now home to some of the most stringent energy codes in the country, requiring full glazing systems to perform at U-0.25 or better. It鈥檚 a trend that鈥檚 quickly spreading nationwide, as cities and states push for lower carbon footprints and smarter thermal design.

鈥淯nlike traditional glazing systems, our channel glass systems design only requires support at the head and sill,鈥 said Director of Sales for 小红帽直播 Wall Systems, Peter Stattler. 鈥淭hat minimalist framing reduces thermal bridging, lowers U-values and streamlines the path to code compliance.鈥

The result? A high-performance fa莽ade that checks every box鈥攅nergy efficient, cost-effective and architecturally refined. Lightweight and easy to install, our channel glass system delivers large-scale, light-filled walls with minimal visual interruption and maximum thermal control. Our channel glass panels are lightweight, easy to install and provide larger, uninterrupted glass walls that bring in natural light while maintaining optimal insulation.

Hill West Architects has successfully brought to life the vision for 7 West 57th Street, a new luxury residential building on one of New York City鈥檚 most prestigious blocks鈥擝illionaire鈥檚 Row. Designed to complement the towering skyscrapers that surround it, the building stands out with a finely crafted, intimate presence, making an indelible mark on the skyline.

The project鈥檚 design faced a unique set of challenges due to the compact size and its proximity to the imposing 9 West 57th Street. Rather than compete in scale, Hill West focused on creating a building that was whimsical and elegant.

鈥淚t made sense to Sheldon Solow because he owned this property directly adjacent to his flagship 9 West 57th Street,鈥 explains David West, partner at Hill West Architects. 鈥淗e wanted a special building there to bookend his building, and he took a great deal of personal interest in it. That was a unique opportunity for us as architects to work with such a famous builder on a project that he really took personally.鈥

A standout feature of the building is its west-facing fa莽ade, which utilizes a customized glass cladding system. The Lamberts channel glass, provided by 小红帽直播, not only covers the necessary concrete shear wall but also enhances the structure鈥檚 sculptural, elegant qualities. The channel glass installed in this project is light weight but withstands high wind loads, adds texture and is perfect for backlighting.

To achieve the desired aesthetic and functionality, 小红帽直播 worked closely with Hill West, utilizing its extensive design toolbox to create a customized channel glass clip system. This system was specifically developed to ensure both aesthetics and cost efficiency. The clips allow for easy and fast installation, along with field adjustability of up to a half inch in each direction.

鈥淚 remember speaking with 小红帽直播 when we discussed the width of the glass channel and how we would achieve that,鈥 adds Senior Associate at Hill West Architects, Mourad Berrouane. 鈥淲e didn’t want to just put a flat glass cladding over the facade. We wanted a sense of translucency and depth.鈥

The building takes advantage of zoning regulations, which allowed for a subtle curve at the top of the building, further enhancing the visual appeal from every angle. The attention to detail in the design process鈥攔anging from material selection to the building鈥檚 distinctive curvature鈥攈as resulted in a truly unique silhouette on one of the most coveted streets in New York City.

7 West 57th Street is a testament to the vision, collaboration and craftsmanship of all involved. While the project faced many challenges, including the site鈥檚 small footprint and proximity to larger buildings, Hill West Architects and 小红帽直播 have created a sophisticated, luxurious residence that offers a unique alternative to the surrounding towers of Billionaire鈥檚 Row.

The transformation of The Refinery at Domino, a historic industrial landmark along Brooklyn鈥檚 Williamsburg waterfront, represents a seamless fusion of past and present. At the heart of this project, walls of our channel glass present a bold design element that enhances the building鈥檚 aesthetics as it weaves together its historic roots in its modern revival.

Originally built more than 160 years ago, The Refinery at Domino has long been a defining landmark of Brooklyn鈥檚 industrial past. As part of the visionary redevelopment by Two Trees, architects Dominic Kozerski, Enrico Bonetti and their team at Bonetti Kozerski Architecture in New York City worked to preserve the building鈥檚 original brick fa莽ade while introducing a sleek, contemporary steel-and-glass interior. The result is a stunning interplay of old and new, contrasting the structure鈥檚 industrial heritage with its modern inner core adapted for a new era of use.

小红帽直播 channel glass walls in the lobby.

鈥淥ur idea was in the same way that the brick structure is exposed we thought to keep the new structure, which are these new steel pieces that you can see in the space exposed as well,鈥 explains Kozerski. 鈥淪o that the story becomes quite clear that there鈥檚 the old building and then there鈥檚 a new building inside.鈥

Central to the design of the interior lobby is our channel glass鈥攁 structural glass solution that combines beauty and strength. Channel glass can be customized in a range of textures and finishes to create luminous spaces while ensuring privacy. Its ability to distribute natural or artificial light and integrate seamlessly into interior and exterior settings make it the ideal material for the project, embodying the perfect balance between form and function.

小红帽直播 collaborated closely with the design team to ensure the glass met aesthetic and functional requirements. Mock-ups were crafted to evaluate the impact of how natural light and LED鈥檚 would interact with the finish and texture of the glass. With lengths up to 12 feet and custom angle cuts, the project required precision layouts and cutting.聽 Communication between the our design team in New Jersey, the architect, and the Lamberts factory in Germany was crucial. The aluminum frame extrusions also received custom finishes.

鈥淚 think the best way to keep a city alive is to think of new ways for the old buildings that are worth saving to be reused,鈥 says Kozerski. 鈥淭o work on a landmark building like that is definitely really interesting, and to celebrate its beauty and its character, but then not be too reverent.鈥

The result is a stunning space where light and texture play in perfect harmony. On the lower level, the channel glass serves as a luminous screen, glowing softly with natural light, while the upper levels feature larger, more solid expanses of glass that define the space and contrast beautifully with the exposed steel.

Beyond the glass, the project also pays tribute to the building鈥檚 industrial past through repurposing of the original bricks. The building鈥檚 story and authenticity were important to Two Trees. After careful selection from the building鈥檚 demolition materials, the reclaimed bricks were incorporated into the lobby鈥檚 back wall, arranged in a pattern that catches the light in unique and captivating ways.

As The Refinery at Domino emerges as a focal point for office spaces in Williamsburg鈥檚 rapidly evolving neighborhood, its design serves as a perfect example of adaptive reuse. By integrating forward-thinking architecture within the context of the building鈥檚 rich history, the project showcases how design can honor the past while embracing the future — transforming a historic structure into a vibrant, modern space that meets today鈥檚 needs.

Our custom bronze reflective glass accentuates a dramatic revitalization in one of New York City鈥檚 most iconic cultural landmarks, the former Eleanor Belmont Room at the Metropolitan Opera.

GACHOT worked alongside Elle D茅cor to reimagine the Belmont Room, originally designed by renowned decorator Billy Baldwin. Now officially renamed the Keebler J. Straz Lounge, the space has been transformed into a warm and welcoming environment that respects its historical significance while appealing to contemporary audiences. 鈥淲e wanted to get the space feeling more like a living room as it had when Billy Baldwin first designed it,鈥 said Christine Gachot, co-founder of GACHOT.

Our reflective bronze glass serves as a stunning backdrop behind the bar. This bespoke glass contributes a sense of elegance and honors Baldwin鈥檚 thoughtful design principles, creating a sense of depth and luminosity reminiscent of the Met鈥檚 gilded ceilings and rich color palette.

A vintage Rolex clock, strategically positioned on the wall of the gently reflective bronze glass, adds a layer of agelessness to the space. Its placement creates an illusion the clock is floating, bridging past and present. This interplay of old and new enriches the lounge鈥檚 atmosphere, inviting patrons to relax and socialize in style. The venerable Met Opera building opened in 1966 and is in Lincoln Center.

The design process began with our design team working closely with GACHOT to create a range of custom glass types that met the design intent. They were followed by additional detailed renderings that received approval from the designers. We provided additional details making installation quick and efficient.

鈥溞『烀敝辈 was one of our easiest collaborators and we were so pleased that they were immediate willing participants when approached for the opportunity,鈥 Gachot noted. 鈥淭he team鈥檚 professionalism and effectiveness were deeply appreciated.鈥

Our glass was installed throughout the space. The classic hues of these reflective glass types are ideal for hospitality and commercial spaces, including lobby walls and elevator interiors. The glass is available in large sheet sizes and is extremely maintenance-friendly.

Baldwin, whose projects included decorating the White House for President John F. Kennedy and many celebrities, originally shaped the aesthetic of the Belmont Room. His blend of classic elegance and practical comfort created intimate seating arrangements that fostered conversation. Baldwin famously encouraged clients to be faithful to their own taste, a philosophy that resonates in the lounge鈥檚 refreshed design.

Gachot said her team drew inspiration from The Met lobby and auditorium in the new furnishings. 鈥淭he palette of the lounge has similar rich tones of red, gold and bronze, and warm white,鈥 she explained. 鈥淭he bar remained in its place and for the layout of furniture, we referenced Billy Baldwin鈥檚 original layout.鈥

The transformation directed by GACHOT has created a warm and welcoming environment that respects the room鈥檚 historical significance while appealing to contemporary audiences.

The Keebler J. Straz Lounge now serves as a vibrant gathering place for Met patrons, board members and VIP guests. They seek to engage a new generation with the arts while celebrating the rich history shaping this esteemed institution. The thoughtful design pays tribute to Baldwin鈥檚 work.聽 The defined seating areas foster intimacy and conversation, making the lounge an integral part of the opera experience.

鈥淲e were honored to be invited to collaborate on this project,鈥欌 小红帽直播 Partner Steven Jayson said. 鈥淭he Met Opera is well-known throughout the region, and having the opportunity to be included is a testament to the craftsmanship and beauty of our architectural glass products.鈥

As Salt Lake City celebrates its selection to host the 2034 Winter Olympic Games, the iconic Olympic cauldron, which once burned brightly during the 2002 games, has undergone a significant renovation. This revitalized landmark now features our decorative laminated glass, enhancing its beauty and safety.

Standing 72 feet tall and constructed with over 700 glass panels, the cauldron embodies a striking 鈥渇ire and ice鈥 motif, inspired by the themes of the 2002 Winter Olympics: 鈥淟ight the Fire Within.鈥 The cool hues of the ice-themed panels are a contrast to the flame ignited within the icicle burning at 900 degrees Fahrenheit. The project was spearheaded by Holdman Studios in coordination with 小红帽直播鈥檚 Mountain West representative, LTS.

鈥淗oldman Studios reached out to us and said they were trying to replicate the glass from the original installation,鈥 said Beth Hockett, lead representative at LTS. The renovation process involved removing the existing glass and structural elements and replacing them with the newly fabricated laminated glass accurately replicating the original pieces. Holdman Studios undertook the meticulous task of measuring, cutting and installing the glass pieces, utilizing advanced water jet technology to achieve precise shapes.

Our glass was selected not only for its beauty but also for its safety. The laminated glass ensures the glass if broken will remain in place rather than shattering and falling out. A crucial consideration for public installations.

鈥淭empered and annealed glass falls in pieces when broken,鈥 said James Graham, Project Manager for Holdman Studios. 鈥淟aminated glass has a plastic inner layer that holds the glass together, so if anything breaks, it won鈥檛 fall and hurt somebody. That was the main purpose of using it on this project.鈥

The significance of the Olympic Cauldron extends beyond its physical presence; the cauldron has become a landmark in Salt Lake City, representing a proud Olympic legacy that continues to inspire community engagement and international tourism.

Although the last Olympic Games in Utah were held in 2002, the cauldron is still lit today during the University of Utah athletic contests at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The 2002 Games were particularly memorable, as they witnessed nine world records in speed skating, thanks to the low air resistance associated with Salt Lake鈥檚 high elevation.

As the 2034 Winter Olympics approach, the revitalized cauldron will stand at the heart of Olympic Park, inviting the public to interact with its new features, including an elevated cascading water feature. This iconic structure will remain a cherished part of Salt Lake City鈥檚 landscape for years to come.

The renovation, which covers 1,500 square feet, addresses both functionality and style, incorporating our cutting-edge TurnKey鈩 glass cladding system to enhance the space. The lobby now includes a dramatic backlit portal and translucent walls that contribute to the elegant, timeless atmosphere. The easily installed TurnKey鈩 system spans nearly 1,000 square feet and seamlessly transitions from the walls to the ceiling. The stairs and walkway are clad with glass and LED backlit panels. The translucent white glass evenly distributes light without a trace of shadow lines. GFC Ornamental Glass installed the system.

鈥淲e tried to create that modernism, but it鈥檚 still a design that isn鈥檛 going to age,鈥 said Michael Rait, Founder and Principal at BR Design. 鈥淲e feel like we introduced a lot of elements there, like the illuminated brick, and then that illuminated portal is using light to create a dramatic design.鈥

Inspirational Image Installed with TurnKey鈩 Fusion Celebrates Jesse Owens

Jesse Owens raced to Olympic glory nearly 90 years ago, but his inspirational performance in Berlin in 1936 remains indelibly etched in the minds of 小红帽直播 employees via a beautiful digitally printed backlit glass mural at the company鈥檚 headquarters in Wayne, N.J.

The image of Owens 鈥 8 feet high and 15 feet wide — is the first thing people see when entering the headquarters of the architectural glass manufacturer. The wall includes four panels of digitally printed glass which combine to create the overall image. The glass is installed with our innovative TurnKey鈩 Fusion Light Wall system, which uses petite clips to capture the glass, eliminating the need for adhesives or expensive glass drilling.

小红帽直播鈥檚 Lamberts glass is the first channel glass to earn the Bird-Smart certification from the American Bird Conservancy

Building collisions are among the leading causes of bird mortality in the United States. We are proud to be the first to earn the for channel glass in 2015. At the time, six of our eight channel glass textures were certified. Today, all eight textures have earned this certification.

With their entire channel glass line now certified as Bird-Smart, we offer a stunning alternative to traditional opaque building walls and flat architectural glass. Architects and designers can now choose from the various surface textures, hundreds of colors, thermal performance coatings, insulation inserts, and frame systems.

Channel glass walls with bird-friendly logo

Piccolo鈩 channel glass鈥 fine, corduroy-like texture, for example, brings glass alive as one walks past it, but deters birds from flying into it by reducing reflection on the glass surface. Channel glass can be manufactured in lengths up to 23 feet tall and can be installed in openings spanning hundreds of feet without interruption.

In addition to creating bird-friendly glass textures, 小红帽直播 and Lamberts are committed to sustainability. Our Lamberts glass contains 40 to 50 percent recycled glass, of which 25 to 35 percent is post-consumer content. Our Lamberts channel glass has also received third-party prepared Environment Product Declaration (EPD) and Health Product Declaration (HPD).
